When I use interior mode for rendering I get facettes. When I use product mode there are none. Has anybody a clue ?
Yes it is the same geometry only the rendering mode is changed ;-)
just as a troubleshooting attempt, have you tried to recalculate the normals to get rid of the faceting? I know its not the core of the question you asked, but might be a solution.

I have recalculated the normals but the effect is the same. Still the facets show in intermode
