Title: Portals; Series One
Post by: Speedster on January 17, 2014, 09:20:21 AM
Hi all;

Been working on a particularly vexing medical device design for several months, and I'm basically brain dead.  You've all been there.  So I took a days break to clear the cobwebs, which I usually do by going into a new artistic direction, outside of my comfort zone.  Only way you can learn.

I've always been intrigued by "Portals", or doorways into the unknown, very common in ancient (and modern) theology.  Hence this series of new prints.  Modeled in SolidWorks, rendered in KS of course, with no post except cropping and signature.

I did 'Fire Eagle' about four years ago, in KeyShot 1, I believe. And yes, it IS from a KeyShot rendering!  I started with a beautiful rendering of my 1926 T-bucket Hot Rod, then destroyed it in FilterForge and Photoshop.  It's a digital print 60" x 34"!  You would not believe the depth of detail!

Comments greatly appreciated!

Dang... back to work...

Love the abstract, surreal feel of these Bill. Always cool to see KeyShot taken in new directions!
