yes, i think the black works here, plus black diamonds are pretty cheap to buy

You should get it 3D printed. The site I'm most familiar with is Shapeways. You could get it in gold plated stainless, or regular stainless and add the gold to the faces afterwards. I think it'd look cool in silver with the indentations painted black. There's also ponoko, which I've never ordered from, but heard their prices are competitive with Shapeways, and Materialise which again I've never ordered from but their prices are a bit higher for one offs, and smaller items but they do offer Titanium and solid gold.
