Concept: Greg Strasz and Brett Sinclair
Modeling: Brett Sinclair (Zbrush)
Texturing, shading, lighting and rendering: Greg Strasz (KeyShot2)
Special thanks to: Thomas (from Luxion) for the great KeyShot support!
thank you,
Brett and Greg
Fabulous work Greg!
The pores, follicles, veins, translucency of the skin, everything!
it's just down-right spooky!
Would you care to share how you developed that material and texture?
(btw - my wife just walked past as I was looking at the last image and just shrieked in horror so you can take that as a vote of the realism - LOL)

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for letting us use Keyshot for the rendering of the Alien.
It has been very well recieved by the people on cgfeedback and cghub.
We've had a few replies to make a tutorial and would like to see what
we can put out for the other users who are interested.
AH! the greys! Simply great. Creepy, utterly realistic and believable. The second one down style grey is the best. Please give us a few tips on your texture creation methods. I'm betting you used skin/translucent material but how are detail textures like that made is it geometry?
Z-Brush, my friend!
It's geometry isn't it... :o Is there a color texture on those models? Show us the textures!
It is - as far as textures go, I am pretty sure. Greg will tell you.
Thank you for the nice comments.

This are the both textures used in KeyShot.
