Stainless steel is sure tough to light so I went for a moody look. I do like how the rosewood came out though.
I really don't like the reflections in the knob and will nuke them in Photoshop, but why are they there?

I like it! Where is the curling shaving? ;D
Next time I do one of these, I will give the shaving a go!

Se ve muy bien.
The wood looks amazing, maybe you could rotate a bit environment to make the stainless steel look better and gain a little roughness.

John,
Very nice!

Nice render, but you can also try different gamma and brightness settings and see if that helps.
I agree with Nero7- not knowing what your realtime gamma setting is, why not try a (realtime) setting of 2.0 to 2.2. 2.2 is what Jeff recommends, but I'm finding 2.0 seems to work better with metals. You will have to adjust brightness, and adjust the backplate as welll. I'd be curious what would happen with your metals.
As a former patternmaker (I still have my spokeshaves!) I'm glad it's not me planing that spot-on rosewood!
