Title: Radial brushed texture
Post by: Eric Summers on July 05, 2018, 03:08:32 PM
Just curious if anyone has any ideas on how to get a radial brushed texture similar to the one I have attached. I was hoping I could create it with a procedural texture, but I didn't have any luck getting any of the current textures to do what I needed.

The other route I tried is Photoshop. I created this image in Photoshop but I don't like how the stripes get wider the further they get from the center. I'm not very skilled in Photoshop, so I'm sure there is a better way to make it.

Hey Eric-

This is a plane with a Brushed procedural (in Preview Color mode), mapping type set to Cylindrical. I think it would be inherent behavior that the lines become thinner as they converge at a center point.

Cheers,
Eric

Ah ha! Thank you Eric! For whatever reason I didn't think to try changing the mapping type. The lines with the brushed procedural don't get as thick as in my test image, which is great.

Cheers!
