Modeled this up for this week's RenderWeekly challenge (S4W12 - glassware).
The model was done in Blender3D.
Barrel in the BG is from the Keyshot Cloud library for models and I believe was originally modeled by Magnus Skogsfjord
Some post-work was done in photoshop.
Let me know what you think!
Caustics are absolutely perfect, great scene! I also love the harmony of textures on the ground and the glasses.
Thank you, Kamran!
really nice ! bravo !
How'd you get the relief on the glass? modeling or displacement in KS
Thanks, Finema - I displaced in Blender actually.
Modeled the base shape in Blender - created the seams where I wanted to unwrap the 'band' then in Illustrator - lined up the vector artwork to my UV layout. Once I got the placement correct- I transfered over the vector artwork to photoshop for some layer styles to get the 'relief' I wanted via blurring and 'outer glow' styles - then exported that as a displacement map - brought back into Blender for the displacement modifier on a high-poly mesh - exported as .fbx
I will be giving a brief overview of this workflow at the DSGN+Skills conference in Austin actually - this plus some other tricks I use in Blender to amp up my visualizations in Keyshot.
Thanks David ;)
Great lighting and amazing caustics!
Made me drop my whiskey ;-) This looks incredible, David!
Thanks to both of you!!
@Josh - I hope it wasn't a full glass! ;)
Wow! Nothing to add. Looks awesome, David!
