Title: Acrylic lamp

Hi,
I've been trying to get close to something like this for the last week but I cant manage to get the emissive core to shine through the outer edges. Any ideas? Thank you.

Most interesting!  You might try separate emissive mapping.  One on the core.  The others only on the edges of the acrylic.  Control each individually.  I think it would work.

Funny coincidence, I was just modelling this lamp for the simple fact I found it very cool and might be an interesting object to try and render. Good job I found this post! Here is my first go at it:
