Title: Strange mottling effect in Quality-based render
Post by: justindustrial on December 04, 2013, 08:11:39 AM
I've attached an image comparing my realtime results with a 64-sample based render.

The green material is lying behind a Solid glass material with a noise bump map applied. As you can see, in the realtime render the green material is smooth, whereas in the 64-sample render, there are some weird caustic effects.

realtime render settings are 50 ray bounces with 4 shadow quality and Global Illumination, Ground illumination, and Focused Caustics checked.

Any input would be appreciated

cheers

Hi Justin,

What version of KeyShot are you using exactly (under Help>About)?

If this is 4.2 or newer, would you be able to share a simple example, with the same issue, with us? If so, please send it to support@luxion.com

Thanks,
Chad
