An older scene that I finally did an animation of.
Works best in infinite loop with some ambient mix on top. ;D

Thats fantastic! Stick it on a loop and i could watch that all day
thanks
Ed
Incredible!!!!
Clever and amazing Dries.
I can listen to some Jimi Hendrix and watch your video for a while :)

Beautiful ! 8)
Thanks, guys! Glad you like it.
I think it's a bit too fast, though.
This is a 576 frame animation. I'm currently rerendering with 3600 frames. At 2 minutes a frame it's going to take a while to render. :)
Dries
Impressive research again Dries, i think the speed is a teeny weenie too quick, but not by much

Awesome, Dries!
A bit fast but looking nice. We'll include that as a nerdy scene in KS for sure.
Nerdy?? Really? ;D
Dries
Nerdy, geeky. Take your pick :D

Probably both...and then some.
Dries
I agree. Make more demo scenes. ;)
Very cool.

we're gonna need a bigger bong
I'm not sure what's going on, but it looks absolutely beautiful! Good job.
All sorts of slick!!
1217 frames finished already. 8)
Dries
2111 frames finished. 8)
Should be finished by tomorrow evening.

super cool Dries!!
Are you outputting this from your tiny wee gigabyte brix machine? If so, thats pretty amazing. What an age we live in
Cheers

Sadly, no.
My Gigabyte BRIX has 'only' 8GB RAM, which (by a small margin) is not enough for rendering this scene with advanced control and caustics quality @ 70.
I should have gone with 16GB. Aargh... :-\
Dries
can you not upgrade it? or are the rams soldered in. Im so glad i got the maximum 16gb in my mbp - only recently found out that you can't upgrade!!

The RAM isn't soldered. I put the 8GB in myself. It's enough for 95% of my jobs, though.
It's only advanced control rendering with caustics at high quality (HUGE photon map!) where 8GB doesn't suffice.
However, RAM consumption with realtime caustics is much lower.
RAM is too expensive these days. :)

super cool Dries!!
Thanks, Marco!
Just finished rendering 3600 frames. Tomorrow I'm going to stitch it all together.
Dries
Here's the extended version.
I wanted to create an ethereal, minimalistic feel.
I think the pace is much better in this one...

Wow. This should be on the main KS website gallery.
Ed
Thanks, guys!
You are too kind. :)
Dries
Very weel done, Dries.
This is true art!
Worthy of SIGGRAPH submission.
I'm not the brightest bulb, ::) where is the light source in this?
