Post by: Finema on January 28, 2015, 08:24:56 AM
Hi,
I use a PNG in bump texture but the result is not clean. (little artefact around the text)
my PNG : white blurry text in transparent background in 300 dpi
must i import a big image or just 1:1 scale ? black background ? etc..
thanks

Hey Finema,

It would be helpful to see a screenshot of the issue.

What are the dimensions of the texture file? I suggest at 2000x2000 at 300dpi. did you apply a Gaussian blur to the text?

Hi REX,
Yes i've apply little Gaussian blur.
The dimensions of my texture file is scale 1 and is adjust to the text (945*591) and 300 dpi.
In KS, i've choose Millimeters
I join the file
Thanks

Finema,

A higher resolution image should provide a little better quality but the bottom line is that the image is composed of pixels and the closer you zoom in to it the more these pixels will become apparent. Like I said, it would be helpful to see a screenshot of your particular scenario but my suggestion would be to model any text that will be rendered as a close-up shot for the highest quality results.
