Title: MacBook Pro 17" (non-unibody) w/2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Post by: MichaelN on October 15, 2010, 07:28:28 AM
Computer: MacBook Pro 17" (late 2008, non-unibody)
Processor: 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4Gb 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
GPU: NVidia GeForce 8600M GT w/512Mb VRAM (1920x1200 resolution)
OS: Apple OS X Leopard, Version 10.5.8
FPS: 16.6

I have no idea whether a 16.6 frame rate is classified as "good" or "bad", but KeyShot seems to run well on my machine.

There is no such thing as good or bad. Seems like you are getting good performance.

Measuring is comparitive. So, compared to Hypershot, it stinks for RENDER SPEED.
Here are two important and good points for Keyshot: Image quality, it out performs Hypershot.
It's much more fun to use than Hypershot. Image positioning is so much better than hypershot, and a sign of your efforts in the right direction.

The HRD plugin from Lightmap is increadible (when I really learn to use it). But, the final render speed at this time is horrible.  This is on a 17" Mac Book Pro, with 4G Memory.

On the other hand, it may just be me at fault.

However, any help would be appreciated.
RENDER SPEED is everything.

What do you mean by "the final render speed is horrible"? It all comes down to your render settings.
