Hello.
My company just bought me a license for KeyShot. The version I downloaded was KeyShot HD x64 5.2.10
I'm using KeyShot to render SolidEdge files that the engineers here at work design in SolidEdge. I use those renders for publicity and stuff like that.
The files I'm using are SolidEdge parts (.par) and assemblies (.asm)... but everytime I try to open/import any of those files, the software crashes and it gives this error.

Before version 5.2.10 I was using the trial version 5.1.66 and I didn't have any problems. I could open the SolidEdge files just fine.
Help, please! It is urgent.
We just paid $1000 for a useless software.
Hello FernandoRocker,
If you don't get a quick response to your question from this forum, I suggest you call KeyShot's tech support numbers ASAP:

Keep in mind, their office is in California, USA. I hope you get your problem resolved.

Hard to know what is going on without more information.
Which version of SolidEdge are you running? I am guessing an older version if you need the stand alone KeyShot. SolidEdge now has keyShot embedded as its default renderer.
How are you getting your files to KeyShot? What format are you using?
KeyShot is not "embedded" inside Solid Edge. It is the default renderer with ST7, but still a standalone application.
Perhaps you could elaborate on this. My company is under the impression that they now longer need the stand alone KeyShot since it is the default renderer in SolidEdge. I was told by it think it was Garret at KeyShot that we can de-active the stand alone KeyShot and work exclusively in SolidEdge. Is this not the case?
KeyShot remains a standalone application, even if get KeyShot as part of Solid Edge. This version is called KeyShot for Solid Edge. Again, it is NOT inside Solid Edge.
KeyShot for Solid Edge is tied to the Solid Edge license such that it can't run on a different computer. Also, it can only import data through Solid Edge and the plugin that comes with Solid Edge. It is up to you whether you think this fits your needs.
I hope this explains it.
