Tried creating a material suitable for fine detailed metal/jewellery work. What do you guys think ?

Wow! Spot on for Fine Pewter. Are you willing to share the details and Graph screenshots?

Have you been taking those rendering pills again Martin ? ;)
Seriously, nice render, although a lot of the features you used seem to be lost visually, unless my old, tired eyes are failing me
J
@ Bill - Graph node editor screen thingy attached :)
@ Metal Master - Nahhh your tired old eyes are fine, just the scaling used. The scratches bump could do with a little more tweaking but i was after a noise/roughness thing rather than a beaten up look.
Will do another render with more scratch showing just to see what it plays like ::)
Martin
Hmm, OK :)
Quotejust the scaling used.
Very interesting point. Most of us "over-scale" textures, and I'm the worst culprit. Subtle textures are better, I think, depending of course on the target render size. Always curious, I just took my great-grandfathers 18k gold signet ring out of the safe, and actually, despite over 100 years, the scratches are subtle. Ditto a pewter plate we have. Less is more, IMO!

A little more scratched detail

Thanks Josh :)
