These scanned sculptures were heavily used 10 to 15 years back when SSS and AO renders were all the rage to test render engines with, I decided to give KeyShot 6 a try to see what it could come up with .... Here's the result of play, let me know your thoughts :)

I like it Martin

Really like that color. Would be very cool with a green gradient as well!
I shall revisit this and see what I can do for you Josh - doing a system clean and rebuild today, keeps over-heating grrrr

Re-visited and as close as i can get it to Chinese Carved Jade

Pretty good there Martin. There is so much variation in color amongst carved jade, some even stained. I'll have to take a stab at it. Thinking something that brings out the translucent crystalline structure, like this (http://cdn3.gbtimes.com/cdn/farfuture/o_tg_bPTYt2CXH_cWuavSJBsBU7HjOKjqJT-JHHobOY/mtime:1387206852/sites/default/files/styles/1280_wide/public/2013/09/07/shutterstock_97264067_0.jpg?itok=xJY7fdQ5).
I would be most interested in that type of finish, I keep trying with translucent but getting nowhere so i am thinking plastic maybe or possibly advanced, gemstone and liquids don't offer enough material assignments, shame really as you still need dispersion and ABBE with semi precious stones.

Tibetan Jade with the new Translucency Algorithms ...
