Don't be too harsh... it's perfectly OK

Although, like I've seen with lots of car renderings lately, lots of aliasing issues

That aliasing is disturbing. It almost looks like it was sized up, or saved with a low quality setting. What is your render output size and post-processing method?

I usually set the Anti-Alias to 2. Samples 20, Ray bounces- 20
Global Illumination- 1.5, Caustics-3. I post pro in light room adjust some contrast, exposure and clarity. Photoshop, I add a grade or something else to the image.

Instead of all the setting. Just check render time and put it up to 1 hr. It will use the max settings within that time frame ....... BTW nice render!
