Title: Flame Fractals
Post by: Despot on September 18, 2015, 06:35:01 AM
These are Flame Fractals rendered in KeyShot using 2D particle cloud geometry from Cinema 4D

I can guarantee you will have never seen these generated in a 3D render engine before (at least I don't think so ;) )

These are normally the realm of 2D Fractal packages like Apophysis, Ultra Fractal etc etc.

The cool thing is though that when they are in KS you can add DOF, bloom, ground planes etc...

Beautiful!

Just out of curiosity how many particles do you use ?

I have rendered similar fractals once using POV-ray some years ago, so I have at least seen them in a 3D system before. and chaoscope can also do some nice things.

Between 1.5 and 2 million polygons Heine

Yeah, kind of meant modern render engines, I used Chaoscope years ago for Strange Attractor renderings, think I've still got some images in their gallery

Makes me think of outer space... like those solar storms we experience from stars??? IDK what I'm talking about. These are sick tho!
