Title: Vehicle Studio using Interior Mode with Axalta Paint Test
Post by: TpwUK on October 05, 2015, 10:05:31 AM
Test studio for rendering vehicles. Tested with HDR, Area Diffuse Lights, Emitters and Diffuse Area Point. All work well but the paint job refuses to clean up on some of the reflections as can be seen.

Just curious- have you tested just a plain old red paint as a comparison?  I've noticed that Axalta paints can give a muted or soft reflection.  I seldom use them anymore.

Not tested yet, I just tried Axalta because of a recent issue and wanted to check they would render with interior lighting mode :)

Final studio is complete now, this is the first test render with full lighting, it's a tad over exposed but I let it run for 2 hours to try and fix the noise on the reflections, when i get chance i will do another render with lower wattage settings and see how it goes. At least we know that interior mode vehicle renders are possible.

Honestly i like the first render.  More realistic.

Me too, but this was rendered a few builds back of the beta release and i had IES issues. Will be returning to this shortly :)
