Title: KEYSHOT SLOWS WHEN SELECTING ITEMS IN THE SCENE TREE
Post by: GreyJay on October 08, 2015, 11:38:04 AM
I have a bunch of .SAT models in Keyshot, and they all appear correctly in the Scene Tree.  However, when I select a top "group" in the tree, I get the spinning beach ball for a very long time.  My system does not freeze...it just takes a long time before anything happens, even when I am in Performance Mode...

I am assuming the reason is that these models contain many, many parts that all need to be processed.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if there is a workaround.

Thanks all

You're right, when a model has many individual parts it can take a while for the outlines to get drawn. The easiest thing to do is either disable object highlights or set a cutoff for when they are drawn (or not)

On the Mac, select "Preferences..." from the KeyShot menu. Under the "Interface" tab you can uncheck "Selection Outlines" if you'd like to disable them completely, or you can set a cutoff depending on the triangle count. This way a large number of objects automatically gets ignored when selected.

Hope this helps!
