Title: Keyshot to support Ptex anytime in the future
Post by: dparcell87 on October 14, 2015, 10:16:34 PM
Was wondering if Keyshot will ever support Ptex? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

We are aware that there is an emerging request for Ptex-textures. Other than that, I cannot promise anything.

Do you use Ptex with subdivision surfaces or triangular meshes (or both?)?

it would be an alternative (to have subd +ptex) to have multi tiled UVs. (which would have be nice to have)

We are also aware of the request for multi-tiled UV maps. It is on the todo-list, but I cannot promise when it will be available.

great Soren, I am sure it would be a nice addition ..perhaps not for everyone, but for sure in our sector where we deal with huge assets and we need more than just 1 single tile for character/creature. For instance a standard digital double might actually use up to 20 UDIMs (with usually 4 K maps) so yeah lots of texture space.  1 single tile is very limiting!
