Title: Material Editor test
Post by: Martin Kamminga on December 20, 2015, 07:14:01 AM
Hello :)
Decided to create this image and have some fun with the Keyshot's brilliant material editor using one of my older models.
The grunge is overdone, but I really wanted to push it for experimentation's sake ;D
I hope you guys like it!

The image was renderd in 4K.
Apart from a raw render, I also rendered a depth pass, for both blur and fog effects.

The following material template was created for all the armor parts:

Looking really good.
I think that making the grunge a bit bigger (like x2 or so) would make the texture look better. Especially on his chest I feel that the texture is too small and repetitive-ish.

Otherwise it think it is nice!

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, I should have specified the texture scaling per object.
I will keep that in mind! :)

Ha, that would be so cool ;-)
I think you can find a lot of useful tips watching the master series by Dries, so I'd suggest you watch those. :)
