Title: rendered images not as clean as the live image
Post by: RobW on March 25, 2016, 06:05:47 PM
Please can someone explain why my live window always looks cleaner than the rendered version even whilst following procedure on render settings.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Perhaps you use the advanced render settings. Only max samples mode and max time is exactly the live render algorithm.
And the head up display (top left corner, hit h key) shows the current sample rate and time of your scene in live render mode.

Hope that helps.

Hi, these renders are max samples but they just come out really grainy whereas the live screen is completely smooth

oh wait, no it was on 64 samples. I am now trying a version maxed up to 256. Hopefully that should completely eradicate the grain

Hi Rob.

I want to echo in on LayC42 about the heads up display that shows, amongst other things, the sample rate of your real time view.

Take a look at the number when your real time rendering is clean and use the same number when rendering with the max samples option.
