Title: Import Transparency Mask from Maya - NOT WORKING
Post by: piloot on April 18, 2016, 02:05:13 PM
I'm running into trouble when trying to import mb files with transparency masks into keyshot. I've also tried to export directly to keyshot 6 from Maya 2016 with the plugin

Trying to export as fbx doesn't work either, when I try to import I just get an error message saying that the file doesn't contain geometry.

Any suggestions on what to do? It's mainly a bunch of trees so it would be a pain to remap the opacity texture on all of them

Please help

Windows 7
KeyShot 6
Plugin 6.1.1
Maya 2016

UPDATE: I modified the export to fbx 2012, the mesh is imported but the textures are all black or lambert...

Ok figured out how to fix it in Keyshot!! Go to material properties, scroll down and check Use Diffuse Map Alpha. It still doesnt import the opacity mask  but for for example leaves where the diffuse is the same shape as the opacity it works fine.
