Title: KeyShot 6 Colour Values
Post by: Phil S on May 19, 2016, 03:17:05 AM
Hi All
In the process of migrating from v4 to v6 and noticed that we're getting different results using the same RGB values. This is happening on both Windows 10 & OSX 10.11.
Please see attached screenshots of results. Any help to resolve much appreciated.
Thanks, Phil

Hi Phil.

I'm not sure if this is related at all, but did you use some kind of color management in V4 that has not been transferred to V6?
Check under preferences > color management.

Best,

Hi Esben,
Thanks for your reply, I've just checked both versions and neither have Colour Management activated.
Many thanks, P

Are brightness and gamma set to the same values in the settings / image tab?

I remember now. In KeyShot 5 we always showed you the Gamma corrected values. Do the following:

In the library, go to the color tab and create a new color with RGB 6, 147, 199.
Then go to the environment tab, check "Color" and drag and drop the color from the library onto the little swatch.
Now double click on it and take a look at the values: they read RGB 0, 85, 155.

We changed the behavior in KeyShot 6 so you are always working with the correct color values.

I hope this makes sense.
