Title: Best method to render packaging
Post by: Rollk1 on June 02, 2016, 12:27:44 PM
Hi,

I'm a graphic designer and need to render packaging for a client. It's a simple rectangular box and the artwork is in Illustrator. Is the best way to use something  like Sketchup to make a 3D box template then import to Keyshot and map the artwork in sections? I also have Rhino if that's better than Sketchup, but use it more for viewing and not too familiar when it comes to building from scratch.

Thanks for your help!

Build the box to scale, and design the graphic to scale. Export the ai file as PNG files. When apply the graphic as a label or texture, use X or Z projection, and check the DPI box. Make sure to type in the DPI number according to the DPI of the graphic.
