Title: Rendering Silhouettes
Post by: Ryan Fenik on August 15, 2016, 06:32:02 AM
Does anyone know of any any good methods of generating silhouettes from Keyshot?

• Using toon rendering generates jagged artifacts on the edges.
• Similar artifacts exist when I use a 'flat' material (see attached).

My workflow has been placing each object onto a separate layer in a PSD, importing the PSD into Illustrator, and using the "trace" tool to generate outlines.  The best solution for me has been to set the environment contrast at 0, brightness at 0.01, and Illustrator's "trace image" tool - but that seems like a hacky solution.

Thanks.

Hey! Try using the flat material. See where it's located in the image below. You can change the color to whatever you wish.

I've no clue why you'd be getting those artifacts. What version of KeyShot are you using and second, can you share the scene? Save as a .KSP and upload and someone can take a look at it to try and identify the issue.
