Title: HDR pixelated
Post by: guest86847 on August 18, 2016, 04:42:30 PM
Hi,

I modified the startup.hdz HDR image that I really like by applying some light pins. Because startup.hdz is only 512x256 the light pins are rendered out very blurry and pixelated. Is it possible in KS to render out that specific HDR with applied light pins in a much larger res?

You can't because the image is only 512x256 to begin with.

The startup environment is actually an .hdr file, so you can open it in Photoshop, enlarge the image size, and save a copy. You can then add pins to the enlarged version. Since it is already a very blurred image, it will rez up with virtually no discernible difference. I just tested it at 4K.

Cheers,
Eric

Excellent idea, bdesign. Works like a charme. :)

So, thanks again to you!

You're welcome, Armill. Glad it worked out for you. On a side note, I'm curious to know the specific workflow with normal maps you were wanting to acheive with a "slope" node discussed in your thread here: https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=13133.0

Cheers,
Eric
