Title: Mobile Potty Truck
Post by: Speedster on September 05, 2016, 09:45:19 AM
We live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, also known as "The City Different".  As the oldest state capitol in America, city, county and state government are the largest employers.  But our local economy depends on tourism and sales tax dollars.

Our local economy has suffered due to the recent decline in oil and gas revenue, and the consequent decrease in tourism from well heeled folks in Texas and Oklahoma.

To help alleviate this, our mayor recently doubled the parking meter fees to two dollars an hour.  This of course immediately impacted tourism (and locals), and many downtown shops are in financial trouble as could be expected.

Also, there are no public restrooms downtown to serve the needs of thousands of daily tourists suffering from bursting bladders.

Additionally, there has been a vigorous and long running debate over the popular "Gourmet Food Trucks', and where and when they can park, and a multitude of new rules and regulations all designed to protect the local established store-front restaurants.

So I am presenting my idea to counter the above, in the form of an "Editorial Cartoon", for our local newspaper, who have run several of mine in the past and likely will with this.  It will solve many problems at once!  And being city owned they can park a fleet of these anywhere the city wants!  Most importantly, the design meets the strict regulations of the "Downtown Historical Design Review Board"!

Sometimes you just gotta have some fun!  Spanish speakers will understand the meaning, and those who don't will have to figure it out!

This is funny and cool! I like the cultural relevance and story embedded within the design. Thanks for sharing.
