The advanced texture editor is missing a checker node. Checker is an absolut must! Of course I could use an image map instead, but I want that simple texture to be procedural and resolution-independent. So, please include it in the next version of KS.
Here's a setup for a procedural checker pattern created with the Mesh (Polygon) 2D texture node. Adjust the scale as needed.

Acutally this a very clever way. I played with Mesh Polygon texture node but wasn't really able to line up the squares. :D
Nevertheless, a simple "one-shot" solution would be much more intuitive, so I still appreciate an individual checker shader node.
