Title: Strange Shadow With Photometric Light Imported From 3DS Max
Post by: octobionics on October 25, 2016, 10:56:55 AM
So I made a photometric target light in 3ds Max and when I send it to Keyshot via the plugin it has a strange shadow right through the middle. It initially comes in as a point light with problems but when I switch it to an area light the shadow shows up.

I've included some screenshots with the intensity cranked up to emphasize the effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How big is your ground plane? Can you attach your scene so we can take a look?

Ground plane was just the stock size, I didn't touch it at all. Ultimately I want to shine the light through a piece of translucent acrylic so the ground plane most likely won't be there but I'm still concerned the shadow will show up on the acrylic.

I'll upload the scene later tonight when I get home.

Tough to say what is going on. Looking forward to the scene.
