Little gas burner I'm working on for fun. Part of a larger coffee system I hope to finish some day.

Feedback and questions are welcome.
Looking good... I like the heat shimmer :)
I like this scene. And I'm interested in the raw render to see the differences to the post pro.
How did you achieve the flame?
The solid parts need some details in my opinion.
But, great work!

Sorry I didnt get a chance to upload these over the weekend. But here are the pre-post renders.
The first pass is just your standard render with some slight DoF. The second is a high bloom region shot of just the section of where the flames will be. Used it to add some blue glow. I composited the two in photoshop with layer masks. As for the flame itself, I painted a single flame on a transparent background in photoshop using a reference photo for color.
In PS I lassoed the area where the heat shimmer would be and made 2 copies. Using the glass filter, I apply it to each copy, one larger then the other, then layer mask the two with gradients. That give you a larger to smaller distortion in the heat haze. Drop in a few copies of the blue flame I painted on top of that, change layer types and gaussian blur until a nice glow is achieved.
