A taaad bit creepy to see a severed head! Might be nice to add the collar of a shirt or something to give the illusion he's attached to a neck and shoulders. I love the color of skin in the ear. You got that nice SSS going on. Good translucency.

thanks for the comments Will - Hope the old guy didn't creep you out too much!  :)  I'll add some shoulders/illusory clothing etc. when I've got a mo'.

First go at using the material graph and blown away by its capabilities.
