Title: Previous views
Post by: rkulshrestha on March 15, 2010, 11:07:02 AM
Hi Thomas

Sometimes we have to hone in to an object to apply a material, for example, the chrome on furniture legs which are a very small but important effect in the over all picture from the reflections point of view. But when we zoom in and apply the material, we lose the previous setting. Can we have a 'previous view' button which gives us say 10 previous views so we can revert to the original view we wanted to render.

What would be nice is:
Fit to page
Previous view 1-10
Forward view 1-10
Zoom  [which is currently Alt+Rt click] but not accurate -we should be able to select by the location of the cursor.
Zoom designated area.

You know that you can save the views?

I agree, a zoom box is needed.

The idea is to 'set a view [or scene]'. Then zoom in to various parts of the scene and change the material. Sometimes you zoom in, change the angle a bit and then zoom in once more. Hence the need to be able to retrack the previous steps and arrive at the original scene.

You might also like to toggle between scenes to see which angle looks better.
