Title: Samples vs max time
Post by: mattjgerard on July 14, 2017, 11:32:39 AM
OK, so in using the background render (and I get more and more anxious for the IT team to install my network render stuff) If I see that in the live viewer 300 samples is good, but I cut the number of cores to chew on it in the background by half (12 in my case) so I can keep working somewhat on the next image in KS, the number of cores available doesn't matter at that point, correct? It will just cook away as long as it takes to get to that number of samples?  So if I assign 24 cores to hit 300 samples, it might do it in 20 min, also if I assign 12 cores it will just take roughly twice as long to hit those 300 samples, correct?

Just want to make sure I'm understanding the relationship between all the options.

Thanks!
