Hi!
A test of creation some kind of volumetric lighting effect by nesting the model inside a sphere with the cloudy plastic material applied (inspired by a post on slack by Søren). The scene is light by an IES light only.
It was a bit hard to control the look of the 'fog' as the scene res'ed up quit slowly on my macbook.
Anyway, I think this has potential with some more tweaking.
Cool, so the sphere is acting as the fog volume and the IES light is kind of acting like a targeted spotlight ?
I like it, isn't the tech behind cloudy plastics going to be used to drive volumetrics in a future version of KS ?

Yup, right on!
Good result Esben!
I've played with this idea as well. But I placed the IES source inside a block with cloudy plastic.
The white spots (or fireflies) was killing the scene. So no luck.
Will you share your scene (maybe without the statue)?
Thanks!
Marco
Looks GREAT, Esben. Lots of cool stuff to try with this!
Yeah man, excited to see this. Played with it a bit, but haven't rendered anything yet!
This is pure awesomeness! Looking forward to seeing you push this.
Looks cool!
This approach is indeed a bit slow to render. We are working on a dedicated material for these kind of volumetric effects.
