Title: Exporting camera/data from keyshot>after effects?
Post by: snoopdawg420 on July 31, 2017, 11:11:00 PM
Hey guys, I have a couple of 3d models that I will be rendering out of keyshot but I want to composite 3d text and other animation elements that I have created within after effects to the video. Just wondering if there is a way to export camera data out of keyshot into after effects? Or to export the project or the camera from keyshot into 3ds max? I have previously exported camera data from 3ds max into after effects and done the same thing. Thanks!

Hi.
I don't think it is possible with KeyShot 6 or below.

KeyShot 7 has a fbx export options which I think should give what you are asking for.
Not much of a help right away.

beta@luxion.com

shoot them an email and see if you can get on the beta list, not sure if they are accepting new testers as they are on release candidates now, but can't hurt to ask. If i get a chance to test that I will, but I'm pretty slammed right now.

Thanks for your replies guys. So at the moment, is there no way to accomplish what I need to do? Even if there are some plugins or scripts that you know of, If I can get the project with camera animations intact exported to 3ds max, I would be able to work with that. I'm guessing ill have to shoot through an email try my luck with the beta for the FBX export feature.

Just heard that the beta is closed. Might be able to make an appeal though, can't hurt to try.
