Title: POKEBALL
Post by: Benny L on August 07, 2017, 08:10:58 AM
Been following this forum for a while and finally decided to share something back. Started playing with some wear and tear on the material graph. More closeup shots to come.. (This is my original design)

Feel free to share your thoughts or critiques for improvement!

Very nice! Perhaps a bit more contrast in the black band? Maybe a rubber material would be nice?

Absolutely nice! Great looking subtle scratches. A subtle glow in these lights might also increase it a bit :)

Oh that could be cool, I shall give it a try.

Are you referring some lights from the scratches or from the blue LED like center piece? :) Great to hear from you Magnus, love the work you're doing.

Good work, I personally felt that scratches are a bit too sharp but however great job.

Scratches on the bottom half may be a bit too much, I agree, but I really like the ones on the top.

I'm thinking of the blue light in the center piece :) A subtle glow to those could make a huge difference in my opinion! And hey, thanks for your kind words!

I think I have those "LEDs" as emissive at the moment, are you thinking I should crank up the light intensity or perhaps try different material for different glow?

I might think I have to take back that critique, as I was looking at it through my phone the first time. The details are much more clear in the high res. I was actually thinking just a small glow in post-prod, but I'm not sure anymore after seeing the high res.

Hey Benny! Welcome! Great to see your work here. This has to be one of the best Pokeball renders I've seen. Well done. Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks Josh! I actually posted another PS4 render on separate thread using some cloud material on small pieces of the console and controller. More to come!
