Title: Downward facing faces all black
Post by: martinwahlberg on September 14, 2017, 05:27:02 AM
I couldn't find an answer to this in the forum but it's probably a well known "issue". When I lift geometry from the ground plane downward facing faces are completely black regardless of what material I apply to it. What did I do wrong?
This only happens to surfaces parallell to the ground.
If I choose a very reflective material the "blackness" isn't visible.
In the attached image all materials are the same. All normals checked. Any ideas?

Hi Martin.

Try and go to the lighting tab and check if global illumination is active (or pick the 'product' preset in the top).
I guess that will solve your problem.

Best,

Ah, thanks Esben!
When I switch to interior everything looks good again.
