I've been using Keyshot successfully for over a year and a half and just started having a problem with Keyshot 6 and/or 7 crashing on startup. It will open as if its initializing then it says "Keyshot 6 has stopped working" and will close. I am on a Dell Precision 7510, and have updated all drivers and Windows 10 updates. I also looked for the Dell Backup and Recovery which many people report as a problem and the software does not exist on this laptop. I have also tried to edit the .xml file "Enable GPU" fix with no luck. It still doesn't work and I'm totally stumped.
Again to state what I've tried so far:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, deleting all program files and any trace of Keyshot that would remain on the laptop.
- Searched for Dell Backup and Recovery, it is not on the laptop.
- Updated all graphics drivers and any other Dell drivers that Dell recommends
- Installed all Windows updates
- Modified keyshot6.xml "enable_GPU" with no luck
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Sometimes I delete the XML file and just re-launch KeyShot and that can help. If you did do a complete uninstall/reinstall, this should have happened, so that may not be your silver bullet. Still worth trying.
