Title: Making A Charger Look Interesting
Post by: Danthedesigner on December 21, 2017, 12:19:10 PM
I was asked by a high-end electrical company to create some marketing images for their launch into the US market. I wanted to pair their products with other designer products in the scene to help convey the quality of the brand.

I also included a gif of the product!

Comments and critiques are welcome!

Hey there. The images look fine , but i think, this being a marketing campaign, i'd like a full focus on my product. Camera is too far in my opinion and the object is competing with it's surrounding. Also, you are not showing the object in use. Maybe a USB connected would help ? or all of them ! I'm just brainstorming. The gif looks really cool though !

Hey man, these are some nice clean shots you have here! I have just a couple of things that throw me off, and this is only my opinion, so take it as you want.
Image one I might try to move the product "up" in the frame of the picture, it just seems very low, and even though the focal point is on the product, I'm still drawn to look elsewhere because of how low in the frame it is.

Image two is great, but the cord coming off the back of the product is just way too straight. At first I legitimately thought it was an antenna. So I would just create a more curved cord for that shot.

Besides that, these are looking really nice. Good stuff!

EDIT: I agree with what Nico just said above, many companies like to see shots of their product in use for marketing purposes. Maybe consider an additional shot with a few USB chargers plugged in, maybe one that is distinctly an Apple charging cord to keep that "High End" look.

You're on the right path, but will echo what Jon and Nico have said. The USB hub looks like it could use some rounded edges on the body. Oh, and if you can get a shot that draws subtle attention to the branding, extra bonus points :)

I like your choice in props for the situational renderings. Nice!
