Title: Windows 10 Pro, 1709 Creators build -SLOW?
Post by: MJDesign on March 07, 2018, 08:18:39 AM
Not a Keyshot Bug, but...
After reluctantly updating to Windows 10 Pro, 1709 (came back from lunch and surprise surprise), Keyshot 7.2 is rendering VERY slowly. Has anyone else experienced a dramatic increase in render time after this update?

Hey MJ,

I haven't experienced that per se, but I do notice that at any given time, the Win10 OS is running about 65 processes at any given time on my machine in the background. I'm growing concerned with the amount of items built into that OS that I can't delete, disable or remove. It's enough to make me start looking at Linux.

I hear ya, Will.
It has run perfectly before the 1709 build, but now if I run Keyshot, even with just 6-7 cores, the machine grinds to a halt and the renders take forever.
Microsoft...sigh. Intel...sigh.

Well, I was thinking of asking IT to bump me from Win7 to Win10, but if it ain't broke...
