Title: Default Camera Focal length/Perspective.
Post by: HaroldL on March 16, 2018, 06:01:36 PM
On my home KeyShot installation the default camera focal length is set to the "new" 50. However, at work I have noticed that it is only set to 35 - even after updating to 7.2. I can understand if it sets the focal length to the saved setting when I open a pre-7.2 file but this happens all the time when I render out of SolidWorks or just start KS without any file open.

Is there a setting somewhere to control the focal length or is it hard-coded into KS?

Hello.
Did you ever changed the startup.bip or applied a custom template.bip?

As a matter of fact I did create a custom startup.bip. Didn't think of looking there. :-[ For some reason I assumed that it was a program variable controlled outside the startup file. I opened my custom bip changed the zoom to 50, saved it  and restarted Keyshot and all is good now.
Thanks for the reminder.

Glad that it works.

Did you ever thought about a custom template and apply it in the settings?
IMHO it is more recognizable for the user. Since KeyShot 7 I work with a template file stored in the resources scene folder.

Cheers
