Title: New geometry edit split feature
Post by: PeterSwift on March 21, 2018, 04:57:14 AM
It would be nice if we also could split an object in two parts with a flat surface (a plane for example) as the "tool" (or maybe any kind of surface)

For instance, right now I would like to split a cable in two parts because in the animation i don't want to see the cable in back in one of the shots.
Just one way we could improve the geometry edit.

Are you asking for the ever elusive cutaway tool? I think they were working on something like this, but its been a little quiet on that front. Preview of KS8 at Renderworld might reveal something, but as of right now I am having to use booleans and other methods in my 3d modeling app.

Yeah that's was my idea that it should be doable with a basic cutaway tool to add more functionality on the geometry edit.
