Title: Solidworks plugin wont export face colors
Post by: cw176 on March 22, 2018, 09:15:30 AM
Hi, I wondered if anyone else is having this trouble with the new KS7 plugin for solidworks.

- When I send an assembly to keyshot all the individual face colors are lost.

As a side note it seems to work fine if I send a single part, just not for assemblies with individual face colors.

>:( This is kinda a deal breaker as having the ability to use different mapping/material variations on each face is a must for me.

I just checked an assembly and everything is working fine for me. KS 7.2.135 and plugin v1.5. Do you have any top-level overrides on your parts?  I know I've run into issues when a sub-assembly has an appearance override, but the top level assembly looks the way I want it to.

Also be sure that the only mapping was done at the part level (not assembly) and that all colors are removed in the assembly. KS does not like assembly level mapping.
