Title: IES lighting
Post by: joseph on April 27, 2018, 10:19:25 PM
I was able to put the library of the IES lighting on KeyShot 6 but I can't recall how to do it on KeyShot7. It shows on Library Textures>Download IES Profiles but it seems empty. regards.

I am sure that no KeyShot version ever show IES files directly in the library.
They are represented as pre defined mtl files in the material tab.

If you have access to the KS6 library you can mount the KS6 library path in the settings of KS7. Or export the library in 6 and import it in 7.

Hope that helps to find the right track.

Cheers

As I recall, IES lights were installed with KS7 when I upgraded, at least they are in the materials library.

Hello Harold.

You're looking at mtl files with applied IES profiles.
IMHO IES files were never displayed directly.

You are correct. IES lights are treated as materials in Keyshot.  All lights are treated this way. Very different from other 3d programs, but it works.
