Title: Puzzle Chair
Post by: Pouya Hosseinzadeh on May 03, 2018, 08:15:59 AM
Hi everyone.
Hope you feel good.

I came back with an other new work. This chair designed by Nicholas Baker that I've attached the Nicks sketch and you can see it. I've done the modeling of this concept using Rhinoceros. An interesting and fascinating design. I love it.
But I haven't considered the materials that Nick has intended.
I made a new plastic material using material graph. Pay attention to the texture.
I've create an simple enviroment using "HDRI Editor" and for shadows of branches, I've created a plane and then added an opacity map.
Notice the output light from the object. This is a great pleasure for me.
The combination of shadows and caustics are so beautiful.  I've added a close-up render to see more details.

Hope you like it.

I really like the texture detail and color of the green part of the chair. And the lighting is great! I never thought about creating shadows that way.

Thanks alot! In most of time, you can use SunSky mode in the HDRI panel, gives a good result.
Try it out!
