Title: Moving models into a group messes up label placement
Post by: ieatfish on May 23, 2018, 09:12:43 AM
I've found that adding a model into a group often shifts all the labels. Sometimes they flip in addition to moving.

See the test scene I attached. To set it up, I added a rounded cube, scaled it up to 3, and put the image on the side.

Create a new Sub-Group under Models in the model tree. Now drag the base geometry (named 'Drag Me') to the new folder. The label is will move down the surface. This is unacceptable. Labels should never move on the surface they are placed onto, especially not just when reorganizing the model tree.

This is especially problematic when I am combining .bip files to make renders of groups of objects. As I add the models to different groups, all the labels shift off the objects and I'm left having to re-position every single one. Then, if I move them again, it happens all over.

When you drag it, don't you get this warning?

if you can use UV mapping for the labels, they shouldn't move.
