Title: Some imported parts not shown separately
Post by: rohit on June 05, 2018, 08:17:52 AM
I imported a sldprt file into KS.
There are some small parts which are a part of the model tree in solidworks but are not being listed separately in the scene window in KS.
Since they're not at all listed, I cant unlink them and add material to them separately.
What am I doing wrong?

Could you provide a little more detail, perhaps a screenshot? If it's a multi-body part, are all the bodies visible? Assign different colors to the bodies so KeyShot sees them as separate materials.

They are not being listed in the KS scene tree at all or they are not being listed as the separate parts they are supposed to be? If it is the latter, you can use the Edit Geometry feature in KS to separate them from whatever it is they are connected to. Once you do that, you can add materials to them separately.

Right click on the part (in the realtime window or the scene tree) and choose Edit Geometry. Then use Split Object Surfaces or Split Separate Objects. Whichever works better for you.
