Title: Scaling a part - no fine control..
Post by: jhiker on September 11, 2018, 08:28:02 AM
In fact, no control at all in this case.
I have a scene with 'scene units' in mm.
The rectangular metal plate under the bench measures approx. 1200mmx800mmx12mm thk as shown.
I want to scale it up a little bit so I right click - then 'move' - then 'scale axis' - then click on the yellow box at the vertex and drag to scale the part - but no matter how minutely I move the mouse the part scales way too much (or too little) - I really have no control over it.
There must be a better way, surely.

Keyshot v7, by the way.

Try selecting LOCAL in the floaty pallet thing instead of GLOBAL. You can also type in numbers into the SCALE Boxes of the POSITION tab under the scene tree. Not ideal, but hope on of these works for you.

Thanks. I had it set on 'local'.
Typing in on the scene tree works well - I had forgotten I could do it that way.
