Title: problem with white paint material
Post by: fario on October 16, 2018, 03:18:42 AM
Hello,

I think there is a problem with the rendering of the material: white paint.
Keyshot pro 8

There are artifacts on the surface.

Thank you for your reply.

Same results after render 256 samples.

It reminds me of the same bug with version 5 or 6, I do not know anymore.
Could you please, give an explanation?
Thank you so much.

Antoine

Are you referring to the fireflies? (hot white dots everywhere)

Couple of things I would try.

- Instead of White Paint, try making the shader a plastic, and turning the specular from pure 100% white to something lower)
In reality, surfaces never reflect 100% white light, that has been known to cause some issues such as fireflies in the past.

I don't know what your render settings are, but if you have a realtivly low scene sample rate, you'll also never clean those fireflies up. Try messing with the product/interior mode?

Thank you for your answer.
I never had this problem with v.7, with the same scene.
I tried your proposals without success.
